DIYCalcLab Editorial Team
Last updated
Every calculator and guide on DIYCalcLab is written and maintained by the DIYCalcLab Editorial Team — the small team that builds and runs the site. We publish under a team byline rather than individual names.
We do not claim professional licences, trade qualifications or certifications we do not hold, and we do not list "expert reviewers" who have not reviewed our work. If an independent, credentialed reviewer checks a page in the future, that page will name them, state their qualification and show the review date.
What we do
- Write the calculation engines and check them against hand-worked examples with an automated unit-test suite.
- Base default values — bag yields, coverage rates, densities, sheet and roll sizes — on published manufacturer literature and public standards, cited on each page.
- Show the formula, assumptions and worked examples on every calculator so you can check the answer yourself.
- Review pages when sources or product sizes change, and record changes in the methodology changelog.
What we don't do
- We do not provide structural, electrical or code-compliance advice. Footings, spans, stairs, retaining walls and anything safety-critical must follow local codes or a licensed professional.
- We do not accept payment to change a calculation or recommendation. See our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.
